My Bio

Born and raised in the heart of Bogue, Justin's roots run deep. He grew up on Guthrie Farm and his "Papa Billy" taught him how to drive a tractor at the age of five. His love for farming only grew from there. In his late 20s, he began experimenting with growing hydroponic tomatoes in his backyard and knew he was onto something delicious. He, along with his sisters and brother-in-law, opened and ran a very successful business on the farm growing primarily hydroponic vegetables and the best lettuce on the east coast for four years. To this day, he still has a passion for growing and for nature. He has been tested in many ways along the road. From having to close his beloved farm (The Farm at Bogue) to hiking the entirety of the Appalachian trail, with the addition of a broken foot for the second half of his journey. He also put himself through college while working two and three jobs, graduated early and the top of his class; and now has a very successful business as a hair stylist. He is highly sought after and has an extensive clientele. When you are in his chair, you know you have his full attention and will leave feeling ready to tackle your day or for a night on the town. He knows the value of hard work and perseverance. He knows what matters in this small town and is ready to advocate for and represent the people of Bogue. Justin is a listener and will give you a real opportunity to speak on what matters to you and will truly hear your concerns.

My Key Issues

Accessibility and inclusivity in public meetings

I would like the town to offer a live stream of the public meetings to allow access to more citizens who wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to participate in the meetings due to schedules and disabilities.

Neighborhood infrastructure improvements

I would like to see Chimney Branch Road paved, and improvements to the town infrastructure to be made fairly and promptly as needs arise.

Supporting Small Businesses

We should allow our small businesses to thrive, and not create unnecessary struggles for them.
